We have developed our own rating for each Caravan Park that we visit. This rating will give the Park a score out of ten with a figure of ten being the highest rating possible. It is a rating system that suites what we are looking for in a Caravan Park and may not suite everyone's needs like it does our own. Our rating system covers the following five items that we ask ourselves after each visit. Things like the first general appearance of the Caravan Park, manner and helpfulness of the staff, size and ground conditions of the sites, general buildings and Park grounds condition as finally the number of Amenities Blocks to suite the number of people catered for. The spreadsheet that we use to calculate the rating is available to use by clicking on the Microsoft Excel File or to view by the Adobe Reader File.

If you don't already have a copy of the Adobe Reader, go to the Adobe Site, find the logo to the right and download your free version.

We will slowly include an Adobe File with each Caravan Park Report to show how we rated the Caravan Park mentioned. By clicking on the Icon where shown, it will open the Adobe File for that particular Caravan Park's rating.

ALBURY:

Albury All Seasons Tourist Park is located 559kms South West of Sydney. Our stay here was at an ensuite site so we have no report on the amenities block. Our ensuite wasn't the best with the door being too short at the bottom letting in heaps of cold air. Our site was a gravel dive through

BATEMANS BAY:

East's Riverside Holiday Park is located on the coast 298kms South of Sydney. Our site was grassed with a cement pad for the annex. As we had an ensuite site, we are unable to give a report on the amenities block other than it appeared to be not all that old. All buildings and our ensuite were of the highest standard and exceptionally clean. This is a park with beach frontage.

BROKEN HILL:

Lake View Broken Hill Caravan Park is located 1160kms West of Sydney. All sites are fully grassed but slope downhill South to North. The park offers good clean amenities for park users.

PARK RATING: 5

Broken Hill Caravan Park is located 1160kms West of Sydney. This is a large clean Park with a small section of lush green lawned area for powered sites. Other powered site will be found on sites covered with wood chips as well as other sites covered with clean gravel. The sites are large with some drive through sites available. Good amenities blocks are available for patrons to use.

COOMA:

Snowtels Caravan Park is located 394kms South West of Sydney. Most sites are semi grassed although as it was winter when we stopped here, it would be too much to expect lush green lawns during such a cold period. The clean modern amenities block offered all the normal facilities that one would want.

COPI HOLLOW:

Copi Hollow Caravan Park is located 102kms east of Broken Hill and has a huge amount of permanents which may give the caravan traveler the wrong impression as to the quality of the Park. The overnighter section is right at the end of all the permanents and offers lush green lawns on the edge of the lake. We found this Park to be very pleasant with the Caretaker offering great service to the traveler. The amenity Block is in the centre of the permanent sites but I think we need to remember that the permanents would be the main income for this Caravan Park so given the quality of the green lawns, we accepted this small inconvenience.

MOAMA:

A Shady River Holiday Park is located 840kms South West of Sydney. This Caravan Park offers a mix of permanent and tourist sites. We had one of the last sites available when we stopped here. It was a steep uphill reverse to get onto the site and with the rain that day, it proved very difficult to park the van. Modern clean amenities are available.

QUEANBEYAN:

Crestview Tourist Park is a short drive from Canberra and is located 321kms South of Sydney. All sites are clean raked gravel. The older amenities blocks are clean and a bit cold on those cold mornings with the open area around the windows.

PARK RATING: 6

WAGGA WAGGA:

East Van Park Riverview is located 455kms South West of Sydney. All sites are grassed with plenty of trees. The amenities block offers clean toilets and hot showers. Even though the park name has "Riverview" in it, you can not see the water in the river unless you go for a walk. We were late getting here and left early the following day, so it is hard to give a correct report on this park.

WENTWORTH:

Willow Bend Caravan Park is located on the banks of the Darling River 1,035kms east of Sydney. The Park appeared to be going under some major renovations which will be of great benefit to the Park if that is the case as there seems to be great potential for a Caravan Park in this location. The amenity block offered plenty of facilities and there was a mix of river front sites as well as sites set back away from the water.
