Wednesday December 30th 2009: By this part of our holiday, most of us were now settling into the slow rhythm of taking it easy. Sally and Samantha went to visit some of the local craft shops in the nearby towns, Kerry, Naomi, Andrew and Dion all went fishing out from Edithburgh where they managed to catch about the same as we did when we went out from Stansbury. Bruce and I managed to pass our time at the Caravan Park. Andrew and Lee left Coobowie to return home for work.
Thursday December 31st 2009: Today was Dion's birthday, happy birthday Dion. The weather today was the hottest day that we had ever spent at Coobowie that we could recall with the temperature climbing to 42 degrees in the shade with a very hot north wind. With shade a premium, we all moved about trying to keep out of the burning sun.
Friday January 1st 2010: Dion and Samantha left Coobowie to head over to Port Hughes where they were to meet others for a fishing charter over the weekend before they then headed home. Today was also the day that Kerry and Naomi also left Coobowie to return home leaving the rest of us to spend the day lazing around doing what holidays are were invented for.
Saturday January 2nd 2010: Unfortunately Dion's charter that he was to go out on had been cancelled due to the strong winds so he had some spare time to put in at Port Hughes. Our day was spend lazing about and watching the comings and goings of people as they arrived and left the Caravan Park.
Sunday January 3rd 2010: Today was to be the day that Bruce and Maree left to go home as once again tomorrow was a work day for Maree. We all seem to rely on these work days to finance theses trips away. No sooner were Bruce and Maree on their way home when someone arrived and set up on the site that they had just vacated although the Park was not fully booked out. With Sally and I now the only ones left from our group, it seemed a bit lonely being there on our own after having a group to be with for the previous number of days.
Monday January 4th 2010: During the morning before it became too hot, Sally and I went for a drive to Minlaton so that Sally could have a look at a Craft shop that Samantha and Dion had stumbled across on their way through to port Hughes. Monday was the only day of the week that the shop wasn't open so we basically had a waste of a trip. On our return we visited both Port Rickaby, Port Vincent as well as Stansbury to check out how much lawn was at the Caravan Parks. Although not lush and green as the lawns were years ago, they did look far better at Port Vincent and Stansbury than what we had at Coobowie.
