Just Cruisin with Mick and Sally

Swan Reach South Australia - July 12th 2011 until July 14th 2011.

Swan Reach is located 127 kms north east of Adelaide on the banks of the River Murray .

Tuesday 12th July 2011:. With myself having come off of night shift and Sally working the day, it was 2:30pm before we left home heading for the River Murray. Our destination for this trip was to be the Tenbury Hunter Reserve which is a camping location on the banks of the mighty Murray at Swan Reach. To our surprise we nearly hit a kangaroo with the caravan as we were driving out of Sedan with a closely fenced section of highway which gave the kangaroo nowhere to go. It was an easy one and three quarter hour's drive and we were there setting up our camp site and getting the fire going. It is good to see that the River Murray is full of water and looking so good again.

Wednesday 13th July 2011 The nights were cold with the days being as one would expect for a July day. No sooner would one cloud pass overhead and another would follow it soon blocking the sun for short periods of time. With a lot of fish splashing the water during the mornings and evenings, one would have to assume that they were there for the taking should anyone have a line to throw in. With tourists and travelers alike stopping during the day for a look at the River Murray, there was always people coming and going. We were not the only campers to enjoy this location with one camper in his tent for the period we were there and another couple with their motor home during the Wednesday night. It was good to be able to get away for a few days and relax along side of the water and watch the day go by.

Thursday 14th July 2011: Once again with the body batteries recharged, it was time to head back home and think about work. Heading home at 2:30pm, the caravan was soon under cover and waiting for the next short trip away.
