Just Cruisin with Mick and Sally

Riverton South Australia - May 13th 2011 until May 15th 2011.

Riverton can be found 83kms north of Adelaide in South Australia.

Friday 13th May 2011: It was 3:00pm when we received a phone call from Bruce & Maree to let us know that they were traveling along the Port Wakefield road heading out of town towards the new Northern Expressway on their way to Riverton. This was our signal to put the dogs in the Patrol and to start heading to Riverton ourselves. It was an easy one hours drive for us to Riverton making it a reasonable hour when we arrived to book into the Caravan Park.

Once all set up it was time to stoke up the fire bucket. For a small fee, the Park supplied the fire bucket and wood to burn. Bruce had brought some wood from home which at times made it easier for us to keep the fire going without burning it too hard all of the time. It was close to 11:00pm when the last of us decided to call it a day and head off to bed for the night.

Saturday 14th May 2011: Most of the lawns were in reasonable condition which presented the Park well. Riverton is a small country town which would offer a good location to be based at to visit the Clare winery region as well as other places like Freeling where the TV series McLouds daughters was filmed. The modern amenities block was always clean during our stay. With our fire burning all weekend, it set a relaxing atmosphere for us to enjoy over the weekend period.

Sunday 15th May 2011: With a late checkout having been arranged for Bruce, Maree, Sally & I, we watched as others packed and headed home after their weekend away. At this point the sun was starting to shine through the trees as we made our way to the main street and a country Bakery where we purchased some very nice pies and pasties for our lunch. Once eaten it was time for us to pack up and finally head back home.
