Just Cruisin with Mick and Sally

Melrose South Australia - April 16th 2010 until April 18th 2010.

Melrose is located 286 kms north of Adelaide in South Australia.

Friday April 16th 2010: As I had finished work at 6:00am, it allowed Sally and I to leave home by 7:00am to start heading for Melrose where we were to attend the Rock the Mount concert on the Saturday night. Our travel timing was such that it allowed us to meet up with Malcolm & Sue as well as Troy & Renae just short of Melrose where we all arrived at 10:10am. We were soon setting up our camp sites at the back of the town oval where the concert was to be held as it had been for the last three years. Dion & Samantha soon arrived to almost make the group complete. Once we were all set up it was short walks before enjoying the evening while sitting around the fire.

Saturday April 17th 2010 It was during the morning when Samantha exchanged a few phone calls to find out that here mum and dad were going to join the group as well over the concert weekend. It was just before lunch that Herbert and Margaret arrived, set up their tent and set off for a walk into Melrose. We never heard if they made it all the way into Melrose or not but they were certainly gone long enough to have walked there and back. All of our chairs were now down at the concert area set up ready for the main event which kicked of at 4:15pm with Markus Meier followed by Jasmine Rae, Tania Kernaghan, the McClymonts and finally Lee Kernaghan. Each performance lasted between forty five to sixty minutes with the final performance by Lee Kernaghan lasting close to ninety minutes. This years concert crowd would appeared to have been the largest crowd since the concerts started three years ago.

Sunday April 18th 2010 Rain had been forecasted for late Saturday and we were lucky that it didn't start to fall until the early hours of Sunday morning or it would have spoilt the concert. The rain that we did have was barely enough to settle the dust on the road and before we knew it the sky was clear again to give us yet another perfect day to travel home in. After a slow pack up, we started heading our own separate ways soon after 11:00am with Sally and I arriving home just after 2:10pm.
